6686 Sports reported on November 13th that the Swedish Super League Jurgaden officially announced that the team’s veteran midfielder Ekdal decided to retire. The 30th round of the Swedish Super League where the away team defeated Ostad 3-1 last week was the last game of his career.

The 36-year-old former Swedish international Ekdal plays as a midfielder. He has played for well-known clubs such as Juventus, Hamburg, Bologna, and Sampdoria in his career. He came to Djurgarden in 2024.

This season, due to poor physical condition, Ekdal has only played 16 times in the Swedish Super League, of which only 4 were starts and only provided 1 assist.
